Chakravarty: The Lord Of Lords

Gnani Purush Dadashri emphasizing the importance of the chit that remains unconquered and at home.

"Where you do not see anger, pride, deceit or greed, where you do not see "i", there stay and listen to the talk. Otherwise
you will not be free."
  > Dadashri Aptasutra 3294.

"What is to be done in order to prevent  taking the sweet taste of doer ship? Nothing is to be "done", know our Gnan, the knowledge
that'we are not the tasters of the sweet juices of doer ship'. We need to know who we are. We need to stay within that
awareness. There is nothing to be done. Our Gnan is such that it will prevent you from tasting the juice of doer ship.
Instant pratikramans follow the occassional tasting of this juice. If such tendencies occur due to prior practices, the Gnan removes
them instantly and then it is washed by doing pratikraman...internal process of reversal of agression through
thoughts, speech or acts."
  > Dadashri Aptasutra 3178.

"There is absolutely nothing in this world worth fighting for. Ths is because the state of the Self is bliss. This
bliss of the Self can never be taken away by anyone. The Self is above joy and grief.
Bountiful bliss is with you. Therefore one must not keep so much in the foreign department...that of
the relative world which is dependent on external evidences. Foreign means foreign...superfluous!"
  > Dadashri Aptasutra 3362.

Incomplete satisfaction
in sexual matters from
time immemorial.

Aptavani 10 Part 2
page 303

The one who rises above
passions amidst all
passions will experience
true freedom.

Gnani Purush Dadashri
gives us the importance
of Brahmacharya.

The satsang is especially
meant for mahatmas
who have strong
yearning to have a spasht vedan
clear experience
of the Self.

D:  What is the difference between prakruti...individual complex of thoughts speech and acts and  kudarat...nature?

Q:  There is a difference between one's own makeup of prakruti and nature.

D:  Prakruti is part of nature. In nature there are varying kinds of prakruti which are distinct from each other. Nature meets them as the common factor. Nature is the ocean and prakruti are the individual rivers.

Q: All vyavahaar...worldly interaction through thoughts, speech and acts...is natural. Is it not?

D:  Yes, it is part of nature.

Q:  Then all this talk about brahmacharya...celibacy and freedom from sexual impulses is unnatural, is it not?

D:  In matters of sex it is necessary to take up that path which is against nature because sexual passion is the one thing that interferes with the natural flow of the mun... mind  that gets lost in thoughts and the chit...the inner complex which visualizes and leaves the body. Once getting involved in sexual pleasures, the belief that it is very good and very pleasant gets firm and thereafter the  chit roves there frequently. This results in endless new causal seeds being planted for future karma results.

Q:  Some have no ruchi...inclination for sex at all and such desires do not arise at all. Some others have excessive tendencies for sex and sexual matters. Is this because of past life effects?

D:  This matter of sex is the only thing which creates a lot of entanglements. Having once enjoyed a sexual experience, the chit the inner organ which visualizes an event, place, act or situation, the perceptive faculty within which leaves the body to do so...will go there time and again.

Q:  One has brought this from his past life?

D:  No this is not from the past life. His chit escapes and goes into that place recurrently. It is beyond his control. Even if he does not want to his chit will slip away and visualize the act or the situation. Therefore if these boys remain celibate it is good. There is no fuss about natural biological semen discharge at night or day time, because it is simply a physical discharge event. However if a young boy ever experiences a sexual event then he will have sexual dreams recurrently day and night.

Q:  This routine of sleeping together in the same bed, is it wrong?

D:  All those practices are wrong. This has been created by masses of people who lack understanding. Then the young boys and girls believe that sleeping in one bed is the right thing to do. It is not possible to learn how to be passion free in situations of passion. When one learns how to be free of passions amidst all passions then his virya ...energy will rise up. Energy has two directions. Up and down.

Q:  Yes, but it is no ordinary feat to make the energies rise and be beyond passions amidst passion.

D:  Quite so, but it is possible to achieve with the Agna of the Gnani Purush.  How else can one the agna...special instruction and command to be followed be given? How can one avoid what is bound to happen?

Q:  The force of sexual passion is much stronger than the instructions and agna of the Gnani Purush. It throws aside all instructions in its force.

D:  No, if his nischaya...unflinching determination is present, then our...the Gnani Purush and the Awakened lord within...agna works for him. It works for many men.

"The one who has conquered sexual passion has conquered the whole world"
> Srimad Rajchandra
The chit sticks where the
mind finds pleasure.
D:  A young girl remarks to her father upon seeing a sari in a shop, 'what a  beautiful sari this is.' The father agrees. Once the chit of the young woman goes into the sari she has become murchhit...lost her sense of reality and perspective. She is lost in the thoughts of the sari even after many hours have passed. Her chit is lost in the sari. She is in this state of affairs because her chit is lost. Even at home later she is in two chit state. Why so? Because she has lost her chit to the sari. Ever since she has cast her eyes on the sari, her chit has been caught up in it. People around ask what is wrong with the girl. A rare person like me understands the reason for her behaving as if she is lost. She herself does not understand the reason for the way she feels. The nature of this illusion is such that it does not let the owner understand what is happening. We understand everything exactly what is happening to the young lady. We know her malady. How did the ailment enter. Prior to entering the market at Bhuleshwar the disease did not exist. After she entered the market of Bhuleshwar the disease took hold. When I tell this to her, she understands.

Now this is the matter of the sari. If a man sees an Alphonso...very delicious variety of mango in a shop, his chit will be drawn to it. Sometimes the pull is so strong that the chit will roam to the orchard where all delicious mangoes of all varieties are seen and in the summer scene this vision of ripe mangoes will also result in a certain taste in the mouth. What? How come the taste is experienced even before the eating of these mangoes? So behold! See how many phases arise in the presence of Atma...the Self...and endless types of such phases roam around.

Such has been my experience. Visualize the summer heat, the dangling mango atop a tree and the tart taste in the mouth even prior to eating it, in childhood. In my youth I would not let a thing go without studying it. I was not learning, I was studying.

A man with a  wife of inner beauty at home sees another woman in the street on the way home. Just like the young girl who lost her chit in the sari this man loses his chit after seeing this other woman. This state of his is called murchhit...loss of relative perspective and sense of order. Once he has become lost in this manner where are his energies? To become lost like this is like becoming drunk. There is nothing meaningful left in him.

The chit sways just like
the serpent in front of
the flute of the
charmer.
D:  What I am trying to convey is that roam all over the world, and if no one can steal your chit then you are free and independent. If not a single object steals your chit then you are free. For many years I have observed my chit and seen that there is not an object or anything that can steal my chit. Therefore I understood my self, that I am totally free and independent. It does not matter if the darkest thoughts come within the mun...mind, but the chit must never be kidnapped.

Q:  There is no relationship between the chit and bad thoughts?

D:  Yes, there is no relationship between the two.

Q:  Suppose I get thoughts about some external object. Does it not mean that the objet has kidnapped my chit?

D:  Not necessarily. There is no such balance between the two. Sometimes thoughts alone may continue without the chit being lost.

Q:  Chit has been kidnapped means when we lose control over it?

D:  He loses all sense of order and perspective like a drunk. The young lady comes home and as soon as she remembers the sari, she loses her chit to the sari and because the chit is out of her body in the sari her mun ...mind here becomes jumpy and restless. Because once the inner order in parliament...of the balance of the four inner components is broken  mind will become restless, the intellect will become restless. Gross internal darkness results and the young lady will lose her sense of order. Likewise the man( who saw the other woman) will also lose his sense of order and peace.

Sex destroys meditation
and attentiveness.
D:  Have you experienced that with sexual experiences your attentiveness is affected and decreased?

Q:  Even the slightest contact of chit with sexual vibrations results in prolonged loss of inner stillness. And if the chit has barely touched these vibrations and stayed aloof from it then the inner stillness and composure is preserved. And if sexual vibrations have occurred and contact has been made, not in a gross manner but at a subtle inner level then the disturbance is experienced for a significant length of time.

D:  What is our...the Gnani Purush's chit like? It has never left its place. When we speak it sways in front of us like a cobra head in front of the charmer's flute. Then only chit prasannatta... spontaneous bliss arises. If not the face is covered by a frown and the speech becomes unpleasant. Other people will read the passion in your eyes and say that this man has predatory eyes. Those with poisonous eyes will be read by others as poisonous. Similarly, Vitaragata...the state of the absolutely free and the One without passions...can been read by others in the eyes of the one who is free. People have the capability to understand all this, if they think after eating daal, bhaat, rotli, shaak ...the four staple components of a vegeterian wholesome meal of lentil soup, rice, chappati and spicy vegetable saute...but only if they think. But if they go to bed after eating, they will not understand
