Conduct and its improvement in Akram Path
Improve Understanding, not Conduct.
 
Key word : Aacharan...Conduct, behavior. That which is readily apparent to others. And that which readily apparent to the Self. In the former it is mainly speech and acts. In the latter it is the combination of thoughts, speech and acts.
 
Pujya Deepakbhai has returned from Jatra.
 
Initial monlogue as introduction to the topic by Pujya Deepakbhai:
 
Dada states that jatra gives the opportunity to adjust to variety of prakritis and remain in the purushaarth of Gnan.
The benefits of satsang, jatra, shibir, telesatsang all are meaningful and beneficial in various ways
 
Mahatmas who say that the mvk...thoughts speech and acts are under Vyavasthit, and therefore nothing can be done to improve mvk. This is not acceptable. That will not do.
Those who aggressively insist that conduct in speech, mind and acts must improve, are also wrong.
It must be understood that all acharan portion...that which happens as visible conduct, visible to others... and what happens within is quite different, in Akram Vignan.
The external conduct is entirely devalued by Dadashri in Akram. The only conduct that is meaningful is where there is unity in mvk.
That conduct where in the mvk is not in unison is of no value.
 
So then how can conduct and worldly behavior through acts, speech and mental processes be improved?
Keep the understanding within that anything that hurts the other, or that which is not accptable to the world, is to be shunned and the awareness must be present within that this is wrong, and must not happen again. With such internal jagruti.. awareness, all negative behavior will ultimately cease. This is the greatest message of Akram Vignan.
 
Akram means we are not concerned with changing conduct. Dadashri states that while in satsang with you, I check to see if you have gained the right samajan...understanding. We are focused on what is your understanding. Once that is correct, we do not concern ourselves with changing conduct. Whereas, the world gives prime importance to conduct only. All the relative religions, all major religions of the world base their progress on the improvement of external behavior. That is the basis of the tradional kramik path.
 
The basis of Akram Vignan is to remain in full awareness of the inner state and be least concerned with changing anything that is happening within thoughts, speech or acts.The awareness is acutely associated with sensitivity of hurt caused to others and lends itself to exact reversal from any aggression thus caused..
 
What is not accomplished so far in terms of good conduct of mvk, is discharge parinaam...an effect and a result of past life causes. So even while the conduct is faulty, our samajan...understanding must be free from any faults. This is the purushaarth of Akram, simply stated. This undersatnding is corrected and fine tuned to perfection in the time after the Akram Self Realisation process. This understanding will automatically result in Gnan and the vartan...the conduct that is the ideal...as a goal...is attained.

Q: Is not time a factor for all to attain their goal of ideal conduct?

 

Dadashri : yes that all are different and gives a great and yet subtle answer that it depends on the moha of the individual. Moha is defined as that which deludes the self. The mahatma with less discharge moha will be much more aware than the one who gets easily trapped by the transient  nature of pleasures and promises of pleasures of  worldly life.
Change in conduct is not possible in this life because for that ego is needed. Instead Dadashri directs us to see all conduct as separate from the Self.
 
Faultless Understanding and Faulty Behavior.
Observe the faulty behavior with the Faultless Understanding.
That is Jagruti and someday the faulty behavior will end and faultless behavior commences.
 
Every single bad thought, needs to be known
Every single hurtful spoken word needs to be known
Every act that is negative and hurtful needs to be known.
All of the above are wrong and thus are to be shunned and opposed from within along with the awareness.
That is the nischaya.That nischaya must not waver that all of the 3 above is wrong and must not happen.
 
Pujya Niruben has filtered this down to 3 sentences in her summary of the 12 th Apatavani:
 
When the discharge of the past life karma happens, and if one is not aware of it as such , as discharge and as it is, then it is a total loss to the mahatma.
When he is slightly aware of it as discharge of old stock then,  he has gained something spiritually.
And exactly, if he sees it as discharge, and is wrong and should not be so, then he has won.
So in Akram there is no concern with good or bad conduct, or any attempts to change it from bad to good.
 
So for us:
I am Shuddhatma...Pure Soul
This is the old stock of File One unfolding
This is wrong and should not be so.
All this is not mine.It is File no One's.
If it happens 10 times...the negativity of conduct...that which hurts any living being through mvk... the above awareness of separation must be present.
If it has 10000 layers, it will happen 10000 times.
All those times the awareness must remain.
Even if it expresses 500000 times as hurt in conduct, it has no value for us. The value is of our inner Jagruti.
 
Also if at times, this awareness is missed, then we have been taught by Dadashri to take time and see it in Samayik once a day. In the entire day observe how our parkruti maal...the stock of F1 unfolded during the entire day, see what happened, and having seen it all, sit in virodha...opposition of the prakruti and its conduct. This opposition is the main signal of liberation and as the stock empties...final liberation will result....and we would have won...some day.
 
Dadashri has given us the assurance that conduct will not hurt you. This is for purposes of becoming nirbhay...free from fear. Be assured that you will not be bound by any karma, and nothing negative is going to happen to you. Your liberation is guaranteed. But your awareness of all that results in hurt will liberate you as you separate and distance yourself from it.
 
It must not be so. Just like the decision to avoid falling into a well is firm within you, this decision to arise from all negative conduct of mvk must be firmly established within you. Do you fall into a well? Once it happens, it is vyavasthit.
 
Vyavasthit means driving the car with eyes open and care. Even so, if there is an accident then it is Vyavasthit.
This message of Dadashri is very subtle. All care has to be excercised from within, and thereafter all results are Vyavasthit...Scientific Circumstantial Evidences. Does everyone understand?
 
Mahatma: Yes Deepakbhai.

 

D: Yes, this is not for misuse e.g. who cares about conduct? It must vex and hurt you from within that this is wrong. Then, all that happens is discharge and V. There is no need to be stressed by the unfolding of negativity in behavior. Just view it as :
This is wrong
This must not be so
I am Shuddhatma.
All this is discharge.
Adjust it thus, scientifically.
 
Do we not say it in Gnan Vidhi that...
Punyaachaar paapaachaar ey bhranti chhe aney tena thhi sarvathha mukta evo hu Shuddhatma chhoo.
Merit binding conduct, demerit binding karma are both illusions and I am the eternally free from them as The Pure Self.
SootevO kootevO ey bhranti chhe , tena thhi sarvathha mukta evo hu Shuddhatma chhoo.
Good habits, bad habits are an illusion and I am eternally free from them as The Pure Self.
 
All of these are of prakruti.
Dadashri says acharan...conduct is of the body
Vichaar is of the mind
Oochaar...words are of the tape recorder.
The Self ...Atma has nothing to do with any of the above.
 
The worldly folks' view is indeed on this three fold acharan...but The Gnani's and The Enlightened World View is that it is all discharge result and effect and has no concern with the Self. For us we remain separate from it all as it unfolds and if it hurts anyone then make the doer ...the F1 do praatikramans. No effort or energy is wasted in changing or improving that which is unfolding. As the negative and the hurtful stock gradually finishes, that which is beneficial will also express...Only that which is within will express. One can not change that. Like the grocery bag stock...only that which you had put in, will come out.
 
Q: When this old stock is expressing it feels like a weight...bojo and stressful...Is this because of subtle malikipanoo...ownership of this old stock? We know we should remain aloof but why is the feeling of weight?

 

D: There is nothing wrong to feel the weight of it...it is helpful for keeping a level of sincerity within that this is wrong and I want to be free from it. The feeling of weight is what you want to be free from. One must feel eg p 264...oh what garbage have I piled in in my past life? This sense of weight is key, because it is associated with the desire to be free. Even when it is unpleasant, it is kept separate with the jagruti...awareness. The very fact that it is viewed as a bojo means you are against it. Keep it as a bojo for a while and then switch to nischaya that...No...I do not want it...its not mine...its old stuff...its discharge...I am SA...
Excess bojo and khed and repentance can push one into depression. So be careful and apply Gnan as a main key.
Q: This weight is because of feeling of "my weight...it is happening to me..."
D: When it was filled...in past life...it was gamto...pleasant. Now in Gnan...it is unpleasant. Hence the feeling of weight. Bojo ...this weight is a very subtle pastaavo...repentance. Be aware to the point where it must not depress you.  But if the bojo is not felt than the sincerity to be free from it may become tenuous and feeble.

 

 
Q: Deepakbhai, your acharan...has become so good. Is it due to your Gnan Purusharth without any effort or is it the result of efforts?
D: It may seem so to you from a distance. Those who are close to me know different. All who come near to their files come to see the real nature of acharan. From a distance all appear saintly and good. The meeting and proximity of files is like the nature of the threads of the nut. It will have the bolt that will fit or ill fit the nut. All have discharge stock...even mine is not finished.
    Yes, I do admit that I stand ready to accept my mistakes. I even tell some around me that please tell me, I am often naive in some worldly matters and may well err. So please point my mistakes to me. 
Never believe that you are beyond faults, because surely that is a danger signal of decline and is a big disease.
This Gnan has been acquired by grace, without any purushaarth...independent effort... on our part...so we will attain our goal gradually.

 

Q: Your mistakes do not bother you, do they?

 

D: Yes, they do. Some mistakes are there for sure and do bother. Yes the Vania Prakruti...a special set of traits peculiar to the trading class and business folks...is seemingly good from a distance....because he speaks so sweetly but from within there is garabada... repressed chaos. So even I will have to arise from its traits too. I will have to arise and be free from all the gOtaadiyo maal....that which is by nature complex and chaotic.
All have a pagadi...headgear according to the size of their head...a proverb that denotes you carry your weight according to the size of your ego....
Otherwise if this maal...stock was not there..this garbage was not there, we would have not been here...we would have been liberated.
The garbage is there and is slowly emptying. From our perspective our nischaya is that we want to remain separate and unaffected by it...regardless of its nature...god or bad.
I am separate and the garbage is separate.

 

 
Q: If the mistakes in our conduct are pointed out by another individual we should accept them, and be thankful. But then if yet another person reassures us that there was nothing wrong in our conduct then how are we to deal with it?

 

D: The Self within is like a thermometer. It tells you instantly where you have erred. You do not need others to assure or correct you. We do know for sure all that is devious from the path of the Self and Freedom and therefore we must walk the path of moksha and all that leads astray from it is to be rejected. Yes, the worldly folks will tell you both types of words...the compliments and the criticisms. The world will tell you that which is tolerated by them or not tolerated by them. That is not the standard for your behavior. Dada states that you have to walk according to your dhyeya...the goal of liberation.

 

 
Q: If we read Aptavani at home or in satsang  or discuss live personally with you like we are doing now, then what is the difference between them all?

 

D: For sure, there is a difference. For discussion to be beneficial, one must study and read it first at home. Then read and discuss it in satsang locally. Then finally when it is discussed in telesatsang live, it will be very beneficial. As you shake it more and strain it more , the more veils of ignorance will be lifted from over and around  you...the Self. So all of it is necessary. Homework at home is beneficial. All these processes help clear the viewpoints to your benefit and help fit Dadashri's Viewpoint in Exactness. As the understanding of a clear viewpoint establishes...the conduct will follow naturally. For right understanding, a single reading is not enough. Frequent readings with attention is very beneficial and cumulative in increasing understanding.

 

Q: In that Deepakbhai the element of the pratyaksh...the live interaction...comes in...

 

D: Yes, the interaction with pratyaksh is such that if you have studied something , then if you ask then the answer will fit you well for your benefit. Also when others ask questions, our solution is often evident even without saying anything to a large extent.
 
    Our question is relevant in so far as it relates to our situation wherein we are halted in our path for some reason. It may be a dilemma, take this road or that...and that is when if you ask...the answer clears your way. Yes just asking a few questions will open up wide vistas for you. Since you are confused and you are asking your way is specifically cleared.
 
 
Q: Deepakbhai, sometimes it feels that we are taking time away from other mahatmas...

 

D: No. All are given time for questions. Meaningless questioning to pass time should be avoided. Study and ask where there is a block or a valid question or a desire to know and learn.
 
Q: In the example of the sudden guests at 11 PM, the question arises whether wrong words expressed towards unwelcome guests will result in suffering in this and next life...is this a contradiction...?

 

D: This is for those who have not taken Gnan and are not awakened to the Self.
For those who are ignorant, the fruits of bahyaachaar...external acts will be suffered in this life and what happens within the mind will be suffered in the next life. For us who have received Gnan, all 3...the external and internal will cease in this life or when the discharge is completed. For those with Gnan all 3...mvk... are discharge. For the Agnanis only 2 are discharge and one is charge and discharge.
 
Everywhere there is koosang says Dada. At home koosang, at office koosang...everywhere there is koosang. Koosang means that which is NOT the company of The Self.
Koosang is avoided by
1. 5Agnas
2. Staying with Dadashri
 
Therefore these 5Agnas is the greatest of all protection from koosang. Not an iota of sansaar...worldly interaction will touch you.
In the realm of the 5 Agnas whatever behavior, conduct that happens is under the control of Vyavasthit.
It is of the File
It is in the relative realm
I am the Real..
I am Shuddhatma.
 
No matter what happens, it is of the first neigbor. Not mine. If it is good...it is the neigbor's .If it is bad, even horrible its the first neigbor's. It does not concern me. Yes, but if hurts anyone we have to tell the first neigbor, F1 to do hearty pratikramans. Tell him...your conduct is hurting others. Do repent and do pratikramans.
 
Q: Deepakbhai,  when we say that Aavoon naa hOvoon jOyeeye...It must not be so...is that not passing a judgement?

 

D: It simply says that whatever has happened my opinion is different. The opposition is registered. If say sexual thought has occurred and sexual talk has occurred, then it is simply being registered that this is not my opinion, it is simply wrong. I am in opposition. Since you are not agreeing with what is happening means that you are at ease and free from further future responsibilities. Your safe side is established. That which happens is discharge and an effect. Since the discharge is not being supported, it will fall off.  This is the vignan. The change of opinion internally casts off all effects of effects.

 

Q: So we are not to give any opinions...?

 

D: Yes. We are not to have any opinions and the opinions that are to be given are in opposition of all that happens...
Yes in the later stages of this Vignan, there is no opinion left to be given...simply an aware Observation of all that is unfolding. That stage is very far away for now. Now the key is to be free from all that has the potential to hurt and harm. Currently we are dividing the negative stock by a positive approach. And even the positive approach is noted as that of F1....not mine.

 

 
Q: After the Ambaji Shibir...Pujya Niruma made a statement...that despite the Shibir of The Godess, none of  these ladies' moha  has decreased. Moha being deluded behavior. I need this to be explained further...

 

D: Yes...it means the understanding the samajan has not taken hold in these ladies. We never discuss vartan in Akram. Samajan  will lead to vartan. Understanding will lead to action automatically. If you desire to go to the airport and if you are driving in the wrong direction, will the airport ever arrive? If someone tells you, you are on the wrong road and yet you obstinately keep going on your idea of the right road will the airport arrive? Itis only when one accepts that she is on the wrong road that she will make a turn for or go along the right road. The entire science is based on the establishment of the right understanding. It is not designed to change or improve the conduct of moha...
 
Now the pratikraman approach for all that hurts the others is the key. Once all that stock finishes, then there will be no vartan...aacharan that will hurt others and that will result in the sahaj...the natural state. Sahaj State is the lsat stage. The sahaj state is the goal. To correct wrong behavior and to encourage right behavior is both considered interference dakho in Akram. It is no longer sahaj.
 
The Knower of good conduct and bad conduct is sahaj.

 

 
Q: Genearally bad conduct is known by the other external individual, no?

 

D: No no, not so. We the awakened one are the Knower of all that happens exactly. See Kaushik's conduct as the third person.
The moharoopii pakshapaat of the vartan of the self...the rationalization and taking sides of the small i...the individual self, the deluded behavior and the associated justification of it by F1 causes all the confusion and delusion and lack of awareness of the faults. Hence the third person... if it is someone else ...who points your mistakes is to be very much appreciated.

 

 
Q: Please explain moha roopii vartan...deluded behavior further...

 

D: That which is pleasant. One says, " what's wrong with it?". If someone tells you, " You are interfering..." you will reply, " keep it to yourself...I know what I am doing is right..."
Everyone around pleads you not to do kachkach...verbal carrying on...and yet you never miss a chance to drive home your narrow viewpoint. Why is it that we cannot see our own fault? Because we take our own side. Just imagine...how much avaran...veiling exists in such a situation. The right awareness is that the fault is recognised before anyone ever points it out.

 

 
Q: Does this mean that once becoming aware, the fault goes away?

 

D: No. Being aware means you have become separate. Because of this separation and the consequent loss of support the fault will die its eventual death. After being aware the jagruti is further utilized for opposition, virodh and pratikramans. The many layered faults will thus vanish with constant jagruti and applied vignan.

 

 
Q: When a fault is pointed out by someone what happens if this is ignored rather than repenting and doing pratikramans?

 

D: The one who does not repent will be at a loss. The one who accepts the mistake and makes F1 do pratikramans is safe.
 
Q: In the 6th Aptavani it is stated by Dada that it is futile to adjust or to make efforts to do so...

 

D: if you read it in entirety Dada states that when all avenues and attempts to adjust to an individual are exhausted then there is nothing further to do. It is all relative, adjustment or the lack of it. There is no Atma in it. So one should proceed further. This is a final sentence , and not an initial approach. When nothing works you have to let go of the relative insistence of adjustment.
 
Q: Is all activity relating to mun, buddhi chit and ego related to Vyavasthit?

 

D: Yes. All of it is in the relative realm and under the control of Vyavasthit. Ecerything except the Self is under the control of Vyavasthit, for those who have received Gnan. Without Gnan the ego makes everything avyavasthit by interference. All decisions and conduct is under Vyavasthit after Gnan.
 
Q: I understand that in Akram  current conduct has no value. Then why are we asked to recite the 9 Kalams?

 

D: 9 Kalams are to change / improve our beliefs. They involve asking for the strength not to speak harsh language in view of what is being said being noted as harsh. By asking for shakti...the spiritual strength, you are changing your opinion. For those who have not received Gnan they are sewing seeds of good conduct in speech and for us mahatmas, all old bhaavs of speaking harshly are being divided by the 9 Kalams. Deepak had done wrong multiplications in the past and now Deepak is doing the division. This is a critical difference. I am the Pure Self and the one who had made multiplications in ignorance is now dividing the same after Gnan. If he is eating excessively he asks for the strenght to eat in moderation. If he is indulging in sexuality, he asks for the strength to be free from passions. The abnormalities of the prakruti are being normalized in the prakruti.  So we mahatmas are neutralising the prakruti whereas the non mahatmas seed seeds for the next life of what they ask for.

 

Q: So these 9 Kalams are not for mahatmas, Deepakbhai?

 

D: Really speaking they are not. But then again they are relevant. They are to be recited by Jasubhai. You the SA do not have to recite them. They are to be recited by Jasubhai for purposes of normalising Jasubhai. They are only there for closure...nishedha...of vyavahaar. They are not meant to improve vyavahaar...for mahatmas. If in past life a seed has been sewn of viradhana...serious opposition ...say of a particular religion then this is being neutralised by reciting the 2nd Kalam. Say if in previous life strong anti Christian or anti Muslim sentiments and bhaavs have occurred then in this life the effect is being neutralized by this active approach by F1.
 
Q: So 9 kalams reset all aggressive tendencies in all spheres in the past life.
D: Yes.

 

Q: So then the negative stock that is there is further worsened by the environs of koosang...bad company?

 

D: Not so. No other being is ever at fault for negative behavior of any individual. It all depends on the nature of the old stock. If he has filled the stock of koosang, negative conduct, the negativity will express in this life as evidences arise. The nimits meet you in this life, either satsang or koosang depending on what is inside within you. The others are not at fault. One can never blame anyone else. If you say that you started smoking because you were in the wrong company, it is wrong. You had the components ...parmanoos...very subtle subatomic particles of smoking within you from past life and they are simply expressing with evidences

 

Q: I accept..
D: Yes, this is a very great scientific fact. No one is at fault in this world. The fault is of the sufferer only. All suffering is the result of our own causes and to give us the effect in this life nimits arise. The nimit...is not to be blamed. If someone insults you and you feel hurt then that suffering is the result of your own causes and the one who insulted you is merely a nimit...an instrumental doer.
Q: Agree...
D: If other folks hurt you, your account is being filled.
 
Q: What is syaadvaad speech?

 

D: That speech which is accepted by all and does not hurt the viewpoint of any one.

 

 
Q: Is it possible that the causes that we have created in the past life stay as causes in this life , like in seed form?

 

D: No that does not happen. The fruits of the seed have started at birth, at the time of conception. The time of conception is the beginning of the effect. The effect is being suffered till death.
Q: But....
D: Death is the effect. All shapes and sizes of the body, is an effect. All pleasure and pain is an effect.

 

 
Q: What should be our conduct when we see someone suffering?
D: You are to Observe what happens. Ego is necessary to allay someone's suffering. That living ego is no longer your state. All your conduct is an effect and whatever you do will happen, in terms of allaying that person's misery. What happens is unpredictable. You may be moved to help or you may walk away. It is all under Vyavasthit.
 
 
Q: What if the seeds of watching TV have not yet expressed? Can they be burnt with the right opinion after Gnan?
D: Yes, they will be burnt easily if you keep the opinion that TV is wrong and should not be watched.
What happens in fact is that the intellect makes you , F1 take a pol. The seeds are there and for its sprouting the intellect says...whats wrong with a little TV? Pol means an excuse of relative convenience in worldly pleasure seeking behavior.
 
Dadashri's  Vignan is Extraordinary. It simply asks you to change your opinion...It is wrong. It is wrong. Even so there will be some leakage because of force of the intellect. The expression of these seeds into fruit in this life may be variable and may for instance stop at the thought level, some may proceed to speech level and some in overt physical acts. Who knows how they will express in future? If JJ Gnan...Jabbar just Gnan...phenomenal Gnan is acquired then the seed is flown away and dispensed with becuase it does not express its effect beyond thoughts. If he is convinced that his moksh will be prolonged by 150 more life times, he will not let any pol occur. Some others will say...Dada will say, lets carry on then...his deluded conduct will continue. Hence the conduct will change when deluded behavior ceases. Moha is the key.
 
All this needs to be understood and kept within that this is one with more moha...this one has less moha...etc. And this one without moha is a vairaagi...dispassionate one.
 
Dadashri says that I have not listened to the radio in my life ! Just gauge the lack of moha !!
Never wore a wrist watch in his life.

 

 
Q: What determines the intensity of expression of effect in thoughts, speech or acts?
D: Poorvakarma. Past life cause karma. if the intensity is very mild it may even finish as a dream in this life and never come to thought level while awake. If it is very strong and intense it will express in conduct.

 

 
Q: Are the 9 Kalams seeds for us?
D: No they are not. For us the 5A only are in the form of seeds. (See above)
Dada's Agna is our goal.
Gnan dissolves the seeds sewn in ignorance.

Know that which is good for liberation and make F1 do pratikraman for all that hurts the other.

Agnani: The one who has not recived Gnan of The Gnani Purush Dadashri.
