dear sir/madam.
i have read many articles on your web site and have read many books about religions. hinduism,buddhism,wicca,christianity,etc..i attend a meditation group ,where the teacher works with a tantric method(not sex) and also uses the shiva sutras...but i have a really big problem.....if god has created everything ,then why does it seem that nearly every person on this planet has worries/problems?if the Real Self exists in a state of bliss, then why do we have bodies??some have said that is to experience the 'fact' of being alive(sight ,touch, taste etc) and yet if god is omnipotent then surely he knows everything and there is no need to have us running around like lab rats?.if ego or desire is the root of all problems then why do we have it????isnt god bored with it???it is in mans nature to want things, and yet in the bhagavad gita krishna tells arjuna to rise above desire.if god has given humans intelligence to make/build then surely we will want to use or have those things??my last girlfriend,a thai, said to me .if you are not going to have things now, then when are you going to have them???which i thought was quite interesting coming from someone brought up as a buddhist.....so finally i suppose i am asking why are we here??why are we each given attributes such as limbs, intelligence etc if we are to just watch the world unfurl???what is the real purpose behind human life?

i would be most grateful of some advice as i am unable to reconcile these things myself....

many thanks
mark

Dear Mark:

You have raised many critical questions. With humility here are some replies.

..if god has created everything ...

If God...you say. If means you are not sure. One should start by defining one's idea of God.
Is there a God? Yes.
Does he/she create anything?
No
What is his address?
He lives within all living beings.
What is his /her role?
In His presence all universe is. He is merely aware of it all.
The Lord within Mark has been, is and will be .
The Lord within Mark is the eternal observer of all that happens to Mark, and the outside world. He does not create anything, nor does he destroy anything. He is not the creator of this Creation.
The Lord does not interfere in any acts, thoughts or speech of Mark.
When the Lord leaves Mark...mark will be buried or cremated...
Mark exists in the presence of The Lord.
Creator means someone above you.
The Lord is not anyone who controls , creates or subdues...
If the Lord is the Creator then who is his creator?
The Lord does not decide crime and punishment for bad deeds in this life

It may interest you to learn that the final definition of Shiva is the One who has realized The Self.

So  on to your full sentence...

..if god has created everything ,then why does it seem that nearly every person on this planet has worries/problems?

God does not create...man does. Man creates his world life after life. Man creates his own pleasure and pain events life after life. For the pleasure that he gives to others, he receives pleasure in the next life. For the pain given to others, he receives pain in the next life. All suffering and pleasure is exact and cannot be changed in this life. All that Mark goes through in this life is an effect and the cause was created in the past life. Change the cause in this life and the effect will change automatically.

if the Real Self exists in a state of bliss, then why do we have bodies??

The Real Self within all is in Bliss. The bodies are in the constantly changing form that suffers pleasure and pain due to reasons stated above. Akram Vignan, The Science of The Gnani Purush puts you on the fast track to realization of The Self and the bliss of The Self. The bodies form and disintegrate just like all life in this universe. The One in Bliss is simply aware of it all. The fallacy lies in the mixing up of the one who knows and the one who suffers...through action. The two are separate , always have been and will always be. This is the Knowledge that Lord Krsna gave to Arjuna and Dadashri has given to many of us.

The bodies have been created by us in ignorance in the past life. They were causal bodies which are currently experienced as 'our' bodies.

and yet if god is omnipotent then surely he knows everything and there is no need to have us running around like lab rats?.

God is omnipotent in the sense of The Knower Seer in Bliss. He does not make us run around like rats. We do, because we search for that pleasure which will bring us bliss. Every human being is searching for that pleasure which will never leave. That pleasure does not come with running or seeking. It comes from stopping and experiencing. The difference between bliss and pleasure is that with bliss the running stops. Not finding bliss we run for what we think will give us pleasure and we run towards pleasure and away from pain. The One in bliss does not run. He simply Observes and is aware of the one in pleasure or pain.

if ego or desire is the root of all problems then why do we have it???

Ego is defined by The Gnani as...I am Mark
Desire is always a result , an effect of the body called mark in this life.
Ego does not exist in those who wake up to their Reality and by the Grace of the Gnani become...I am Pure Self.
Desire afterwards becomes the desire of mark and I am the pure Observer of the desires of Mark.
Desires are borne out of opinions created as the worldly self.
For example, some people like a Lexus 400 and some are happy with a small Ford that takes them around.
Both are the results of desires created in past life.
Some wisen up and see that both are sources of pleasure and pain.
Pleasure for the comfort
Pain for the payments on the car.

Ego always exists life after life. The Only one whose ego dissolved amidst the millions on the battlefield in The Mahabharata was
Arjuna. This is because he received the secret knowledge from The Gnani Lord Krsna. Ego...I am mark can not be dissolved by any other method. As long as ego exists, desire and its consequence of pain and pleasure continue life after life.

Desire is not the root of all problems. Ignorance of who am I is the root of all problems.

some say it leads to the desire to find out who we really are...so why does this game repeat billions and billions of times?

Perhaps true..the final reason for human birth is to ask this question ...who am I? Until this question is asked...the game as you put it and the play as said by Lord Krsna goes on and on. This is the most critical question you have asked, Mark. With every experience of pleasure and pain life after life...there comes an inner spiritual growth that makes one have an intuition that there must be more to life than eat, drink, sleep, move, excrete and procreate...and this is where The Gnani begins. Rare is the person who arrives at the doorstep of this question.

isnt god bored with it???

God is beyond boredom. Man gets bored with it. Infact life after life he gets bored with it and forgets. That is called maaya...illusion.

it is in mans nature to want things, and yet in the bhagavad gita krishna tells arjuna to rise above desire.if god has given humans intelligence to make/build then surely we will want to use or have those things.

Yes..agree desire is in the nature of the flesh of man. That is the natural law of the body. There is nothing wrong with desire. Desire needs to be understood. It need not be shunned or renunciated. To rise above desire means to know that which is higher than desire. Desire is an effect. Even a hungry man will chose a better variety of food when the choice is there in front of him. Desire is an effect from past life. Some folks love ice cream and some do not care for it. Some people go for thin women and some go for fat ones. They have brought this ...carried forward this from their past life. An elephant will not touch meat. A lion will not touch the best of sugar canes and grass. The final use of intelligence is to know the reason behind desire and the search out that which stops all desire. That does not in any way prevent one from enjoying that which comes before the individual.

The Gnani Purush says that there is nothing wrong with enjoying what comes in front of you. Simply do not get hung up in desiring more of that which is temporary and pleasant. If it yours it will come again in front of you. If it is not yours...it will not. It is like love. Love means letting go. If it is real...it will come back to you.

my last girlfriend,a thai, said to me .if you are not going to have things now, then when are you going to have them???

I would substitute the word enjoy for the word have.
All attempts at possessing anything or anyone invites pain.
Enjoyment is for that which comes naturally in front of you.
Enjoy the beauty of the spring flower that has blossomed for you on your morning walk...
Enjoy the food that has been cooked with love by your life partner...
Enjoy the result of the help of someone who has carried a manual load for you or worked for you so that your life is easier...
True enjoyment means not worrying about when you will enjoy it again.
Sure, if you can easily own a BMW M5 go ahead and enjoy it. If you can not, enjoy the well working AC of your Toyota as you see sweating faces of the folks in their old beaten up cars on the road in the heat of summer...or see a human being walking alone with a load on his shoulders in the heat of the sun.

Less pleasure is pain and less pain is pleasure.

...so finally i suppose i am asking why are we here??

We are here because we have been asleep life after life. We have not been awakened to our true nature. We have come to repay the debts and credits of past life. Pain and suffering for the debts and pleasure and comforts for the credits. Many of us have met each other in the past life. By our very interaction you and I have met in the past life, and in this one we are jointly probing this highest of issues.

why are we each given attributes such as limbs, intelligence etc if we are to just watch the world unfurl???

The old belief was that we were given these limbs. The new knowledge is that this limbs have been created by us in ignorance. Those who hack off a limb of someone in the past life get theirs chopped off by any means in this life. Those who maim or injure the head of some one in past life get brain damaged in this life. This is the knowledge to be aware of.

etc if we are to just watch the world unfurl???

Watching is not for all. Watching is for the one who gets established in the Bliss of The Self. Without that, Mark will not be able to watch the world unfurl even for five minutes.

what is the real purpose behind human life?

This is linked to the question of who am I and who is asking this question?
The answer to this in the great book of The Gnani...on the web called who am I?
who am i ? the book

In short, the real purpose of human life is to attain freedom from the cycles of birth and death, cycles of pleasure and pain.
This freedom is moksha.

i would be most grateful of some advice as i am unable to reconcile these things myself....

The gratitude you express will raise you higher ...Mark
There is no advice here as these represent the words of The Gnani who exists solely for the salvation of humanity.
These words are expressed at His Feet
If there are any errors they are mine and not of the Gnani.
The ultimate reconciliation is upon meeting The Gnani.

With sincere thanks for these questions which help all who read them

Please note that the responses of shuddha above are simply the experience of only one of many thousands of mahatmas of The Gnani Purush
Pujya Dadashri and are in no way intended to make any specific claims for others. They are highly individualised and personal experiences and on this science all matters that relate to inner experiences and representations are for the person experiencing them. There is no world experience when it comes to the interaction of the self and the Self. Precise answers are the ones that result in a meaningful change within an individual for personal bliss and worldly peace. Such precise experiential answers are only possible when one meets a Gnani Purush. 1
