Absolute humility leads to
freedom
The answers are spontaneous and from the
perspective of the experiential understanding of Akram Vignan.
The exact answers are beyond words. This will be understood once a seeker arrives and proceeds further in the realm of scientific spirituality.

Dear James:
The replies to your letter (unedited version at the bottom) is in the form of highlighting your comments and questions and
First of all, I have been
spending a LOT of time reading and immersing
myself in the various satsang
"books" available on dadashri.org and feel
blessed to have come across such
wonderful wisdom.
This feeling is grace. Deep within us all is the One who connects and takes us higher. He has walked with us many many lives, and only the blessed and graced ones are able to 'feel' that. The rest plod along in sleep and oblivion, seemingly alert and awake, yet in deep slumber from the perspective of reality and liberation.
spending a LOT of time...
Infinite life times have passed away from your Self...no amount of time that brings you in front of the Self...is enough.
I find a lot of it is
similar to
ideas I've already been exposed to, so I already have a
"feel" for the whole
concept of separating the knower from the known...
Yes indeed, the ideas are there in all modern scriptures too, but the experience is lacking. The separation that Dadashri offers through the Gnan Vidhi of Akram Vignan is beyond any efforts of the intellect. The separation becomes, and remains your natural state. To separate involves doer ship. There remains no doer after the separation. There remains simply the Knower. Until this Knower arises one is necessarily committed to be the doer.
Having said that, the statement of yours above exposes glimpses of a high level of spiritual evolution.
knowing that "all that I perceive is not
me".. remaining a witness to
all experience and perception...
etc.
There is no "remaining" to be "done" as the Self is always the constant witness of all that has happened to James. The difference in the Grace of the Gnani is that there is no effort necessary from James anymore.
a lot of the things I've been
reading
over the past many days (the books available on dadashri.org)
have helped me
to see a lot of things in a different light,
The light, vision and the view of the Gnani is exclusive and all encompassing so that every time you read the same words in the q&a sessions with him, there will unfold a new dimension within and this is the light of the enlightened Self....within. Even before attaining the Self , you are already saying that and that is the marvel of all marvels.
Now, my first question is: do all these
"satsang books" contain the
entirety of the Akram Vignan science/knowledge,
or are there other
elements to it that are only available to those that take
Gnan Vidhi?
No book, no number of books can contain the vast Science that the Gnani Purush has unfolded. In the final analysis and ultimately through this Vidhi, and the adherence to the five Agnas, one reaches the experiential knowledge of the Absolute, (Kevala) Gnan which is beyond all words. Even the Gnan/knowledge that is imparted to the seeker in the Gnan Vidhi is beyond all words. It simply loses its intrinsic value when it is expressed or explained in words. Its value is beyond all human expression. It is the experience.
In practical terms, please note that most of the 'books' translated and available on the web in English and other languages are the translations of abridged versions of the main books which in most cases are five times the size of the translated books.
Yes, there is a tiny special booklet called the Charan Vidhi which is given personally to each of the participants of the Gnan Vidhi and represents an instruction manual for those who have residual issues remaining after Gnan and then some more relevant material. Parts of the Charan Vidhi booklet, the hymns to the Self and the Liberator Gnani are included in this booklet and these parts, not all, will be soon uploaded on the web for its relevant translation value for the rest of the world. Most portions of the Charan Vidhi Booklet is relevant only to the one who has been established as the Self through the Gnan Vidhi and therefore even if one were to have access to it and read it, it would not have the same 'fitting' experience. It would be like having a key to the second door within, without actually having a key to the main door.
What I mean is, by reading,
contemplating and understanding the many
texts available on dadashri.org, am
I receiving the bulk or majority of
this science, or am I missing out on some
vital elements of it?
This is a very profound question. I wish the Gnani were here to answer the question directly to you. The most profound answer is the following, as he has answered in his satsang with seekers who pose similar questions.
Yes, James is receiving the majority of this Science via the web reading of the words of the Gnai in his 'books". You are not. James will understand and negotiate the intricacies of this science through his intellect, accept and reject and absorb as decided by James's intellect and mind. The inner grace is working in every seeker. That is why you have poured yourself so wholeheartedly in his words. The Grace of the Gnani is the Grace of His words. His words have to be allowed to flow in ...in..the Gnan Vidhi. Then, all work is done. Then all words of spirituality, regardless of its origin, background or faith will remain in their exact place in the vast light of your light of knowledge.
It is apparent to all who read these words of yours that you have been captivated by what the Gnani Purush Dadashri has said. This is by itself a very amazing happening. The connection between you and Him is not something that can be intellectually analysed or quantified. Everything and all else is temporary and changing.
So in his words, the vital element is the separation of James from You, and that is only possible when you meet a live enlightened being who has the keys to perform this separation for you.
The intangible factor in the whole equation is the live meeting with the Gnani, the resolution of the final doubts, the burning desire to know, the need to be free, the surrender of the worldly ego, the opening up within to receive this knowledge, and the exact understanding and therefore the adherence to the practical application of the Agnas for the rest of the current life.
Please know that the Agnas of The Gnani Purush represent the Knowledge of The Self, sustain the State of the Self and therefore have no interference with the unfolding world of James.
And that leads me to my second
question:
I am aware that Gnan Vidhi is given in the form of sentences to
repeat,
"feel", and "merge" with one's own awareness, and that these
sentences
are precisely designed to point one towards
Self-realization.
Slight correction, if I may...
These sentences have been precisely designed in the original experiment, the experiment of The Akram Vignani, the Master Scientist. These sentences plus something beyond, make you Self realized. If they were pointing towards anything, you would not have arrived yet. There would be still something left for you to do. That is not so. The worldly gurus, spiritual masters and the so called Self realized gurus only point towards Self-realization. There is no one that I know in 2004 outside from this scientific Akram Vignan who has the mastery and the force within to actually place you as the Self.
I find
myself extremely curious about
Gnan Vidhi and the 5 Aagnas... curious to
know what they actually are, since
they seem to be the "secret key", and
I can't find any direct info about them
on the internet (not to my
surprise, and probably the way it should be
=)
The function of the human intellect is to probe and reach the ultimate limits of worldly knowledge. There arrives the boundary, the limit beyond which only the One who has transcended that boundary, "knows". This is what happened spontaneously to Dadashri in 1958. Through his amazing Grace and purushaarth ( a word which you are now quite familiar with on the extensive reading on the Dadashri web pages) we ordinary human beings get a glimpse of this world beyond. That is very special.
Please know that what is offered to you in the gift of the Gnan Vidhi and the Agnas is nothing secretive or magical. It simply is your own pristine pure Self and the bliss that accompanies it, free from all the previously held beliefs, preconceptions, and notions that prevented this bliss.
The Gnan Vidhi therefore is the grand secret door that lets you enter the world of the free. The term secret is being used here because not even a millionth percent of this worldly population which is seeking is even aware of such a door ! The Gnan Vidhi is not possible without meeting a living Gnani, an enlightened Master. What such a person looks like or does, is irrelevant. What such a person does for you is most relevant. In the world of the free, there is no master left. Until you enter the world of the free, a Master is necessary. After the entry into the world of the free the reverence for this live individual is natural and spontaneous and becomes your second nature.
All curiosity is healthy. To a point. When it impedes your bliss or the access to it, it becomes unhealthy.
So I was
wondering, is there any way that Gnan Vidhi and the 5 Aagnas
can be given
through a medium such as email, or even over the phone? Or
is there a lot
more involved in the process that would prevent this from
being
successful?
E-mail, no. Telephone ? On very rare occasions I have known Pujya Niruben give this Gnan Vidhi to a dying person on the phone, when live access was not possible. She graced my mother-in-law who was dying of lung cancer, in a US hospital via telephone, from India many years ago.
The world that unfolds after one enters the door to freedom is vast, amazing and filled with palpable wonder. There remains however, the world of James with all the worldly unfolding of the life of James that is the effect of causes created in past life. Sometimes this presents as valleys of despair and tough times. For these times continuous application of the Light of the Agnas lifts you up from the darkness that unfolds. So the Gnani does not leave you after giving you the Gnan. He remains with you as Your Self, life after life until final liberation from all karmas.
Three components of the Gnan Vidhi should ideally happen for meaningful results:
1. An approach to the Gnani with whom, and after, all questions and doubts are resolved.
2. A meaningful desire for liberation and the proper surrender of the worldly ego that claims that 'I know'
3.. Exact understanding and therefore the application, of the 5 Agnas that follow the establishment of the Self, in the Gnan Vidhi.
Vast crowds are now rising to avail themselves of the Gnan Vidhi, especially in India. The inner separation of any human being continues to remain an exclusive individual phenomenon. It is not a matter that is in the realm of anyone to comment upon what happens within some else. That is the responsibility of Dadashri.
right now I don't
have the means necessary to travel to India (!) or
even abroad in the U.S.
(where I live) to directly receive Gnan Vidhi,
the 5 Aagnas and whatever else
might be involved. This may be because
karmically I may not be ready to
receive such knowledge, even though I
"know" that I am ready intellectually
and spiritually... who knows!
This readiness is the key. The rest will unfold. Without this readiness even an emperor will miss this door to liberation. Please do not harbor any doubts. You have not arrived at this interaction by accident. You are very much in front of the door. Life after life one has arrived at the door and knocked at many doors only to find that it was locked. This door is the door to the ocean of bliss within you. The key is with someone else, until that person opens it for you. Thereafter, you need no keys. This person is not going to demand anything from you for this key. That person is merely giving you the key of the Akram Vignani.
Travel abroad is not necessary to receive this key. The desire to open this door is the necessary ingredient.
Now, I
have come to know that there is an Akram Vignan center relatively
close to
me... in Topeka Kansas. I live in Salina Kansas, so this is
only about 2-3
hours away driving distance (although I don't have a...
reliable... car hehe,
it's still relatively close and within reach if I
were really determined). I
was wondering if these "centers" in the U.S.
can give the entire Gnan Vidhi,
5 Aagnas, etc. And if they CAN give
them, is it guaranteed to be just as
effective if given by Dadashri
himself or Dr. Niruben? ... assuming the
receiver is receptive enough of
course!
Akram Vignan Center called DBVI is an administrative center in the USA for the work of Dadashri under the leadership of Dr. Niruben Amin. When she is in Topeka, or Kansas City area during her summer visits overseas to UK,USA & Canada she does conduct the Gnan Vidhis. Otherwise travel to Topeka would not be of any further benefit. Most of the questions can be addressed by email.
To answer you question in short, currently the Gnan Vidhi is "given" by Pujya Niruben & Pujya Deepakbhai. They reside in India and do come to USA every spring and summer. The rest of the centers are all groups of Self realized souls called mahatmas, who facilitate the work of the Akram Vignani by arranging satsangs and Gnan Vidhis for new seekers.
And if
they CAN give
them, is it guaranteed to be just as effective if given by
Dadashri
himself or Dr. Niruben? ... assuming the receiver is receptive
enough of
course!
Again a very probing question. In the world of Akram Vignan there will be many who will become ready to further the Work of Dadashri. They will attain what is necessary to pass on this Science for generations to come. If not in this life time then in the lives to come...
What you have stated demands something from the giver as well. The Knowledge of the Self can only flow from the One who is The Self, remains as the Self. Such a One is beyond all worldly desires and designs. Such human beings are very very very rare. Only such human beings make others free.
I haven't
contacted that Akram Vignan center in Topeka yet, as I figured
I would ask
you about the "validity" of such centers first, before
contacting them
directly and going through the trouble to receive
something from them that
they may not even be authorized to give...
The Akram Vignan Center in Topeka is an active and valid administrative center. No center can give you what you are seeking. A living enlightened Being is what you need. A meeting with such a One is necessary. My calling such a person "enlightened" will not do. You will have to know that.
Enough for now...
With salutations to the one who is knocking on the door...
and eternal salutations to the pure Self in James

Subject: A Few Questions
Regarding Gnan Vidhi / Akram Vignan
Hello!
My name is James
and I just have a few questions about Dadashri's Akram
Vignan and some
related things.
First of all, I have been spending a LOT of time
reading and immersing
myself in the various satsang "books" available on
dadashri.org and feel
blessed to have come across such wonderful wisdom. I
find a lot of it is
similar to ideas I've already been exposed to, so I
already have a
"feel" for the whole concept of separating the knower from the
known...
knowing that "all that I perceive is not me".. remaining a witness
to
all experience and perception... etc. But a lot of the things I've
been
reading over the past many days (the books available on
dadashri.org)
have helped me to see a lot of things in a different light, and
also to
better formulate and understand certain ideas that I didn't quite
have a
very strong concept of.
Now, my first question is: do all these
"satsang books" contain the
entirety of the Akram Vignan science/knowledge,
or are there other
elements to it that are only available to those that take
Gnan Vidhi?
What I mean is, by reading, contemplating and understanding the
many
texts available on dadashri.org, am I receiving the bulk or majority
of
this science, or am I missing out on some vital elements of it?
And
that leads me to my second question:
I am aware that Gnan Vidhi is given
in the form of sentences to repeat,

So
I was wondering, is there any way that Gnan Vidhi and the 5 Aagnas
can be
given through a medium such as email, or even over the phone? Or
is there a

I would ask you about the "validity" of such centers
first, before
contacting them directly and going through the trouble to
receive
something from them that they may not even be authorized to
give...
Well, I think that's about all I was curious about.... for now..
=)
Any info relating to any of these questions would be much
appreciated,
and I thank you greatly for your time.
Until next
time,
--James
